After exploring various possibilities to make Explore! more financially viable, we have made the difficult decision to close. We appreciate the support of the community over the years and have enjoyed the privilege of meeting so many children and their families. An opportunity has presented itself to donate a majority of our supplies and equipment to an orphanage in Zimbabwe, Africa, through the Dangwa Initiative. If you would like to join us in helping these children and their communities, please contact us through our Facebook page.

It's back to school time! Hope everyone had a great summer! It sure was great weather!
We're going back to our winter schedule - Thursday and Friday 10-3, Saturday 10-5 and Sunday 12-5. We can open on other days for groups - just give us a call.
We will be sponsoring a Fall Festival for Bay Road Presbyterian Church on September 19th, so Explore! will be closed. You are welcome to join us for worship at 9:30 am and stay for a fun event.
If you are interested in a birthday party or other event and it is not normal business hours, please call our reservation helpline at 793-6185.

Now that school is winding down, we will be expanding our hours - opening on Wednesdays starting June 9th and then daily starting at the end of the month.
Remember to bring in toilet articles in a zip lock bag for our Neighbor to Neighbor program and one adult will be admitted FREE.

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there! We will be closed on Sunday, May 9th in honor of mothers everywhere! Enjoy your special day!

With the hustle and bustle of the holiday season upon us, let Explore! help make the season a little more merry (and a little less stressful)!
Great Gift Ideas - purchase a day-pass for each child on your gift list! Better yet, purchase a Passport - good for 10 visits - and we'll add an Explore! t-shirt - FREE! Or how about a Stuff-n-Fluff animal workshop gift certificate - then you can plan a special day at Explore! with your child and take home their new friend! And don't forget spa gift certificates for busy moms and dads or to thank caregivers for their efforts. We also have wonderful Timetrio clocks and Dannabands, as well as Explore! sweatshirts in adult and child sizes.
Explore! will be open every day during the holiday season with the exception of Christmas Eve Day, Christmas Day and New Year's Day, so there's plenty of time to Explore! Send dad or grandpa with the kids so you can have time to shop, bake or wrap gifts (or take a nap!). If they're not available to watch the kids, make a reservation for tot-watching at Explore!, and we'll supervise the kids for up to 3 hours. Or grab everyone and come as a family to create some special memories!
Join us for our "Phamily Phun" Hockey Pre-game Parties - Saturday, December 5th and Saturday, December 12th from 5-6:30 pm - face-painting, mask-making and open play - all for $10 per child - adults are FREE. Fall is here! And we're happy to have our Animal Hospital Exhibit back - come take care of our animals! We've got some other new activities in the works - keep checking back for announcements.
As the weather gets chillier, and the days get shorter, more folks are looking for indoor locations for their child's birthday party. We're starting to book a month or more in advance, so please call early to reserve your party! And with our new Stuff-N-Fluff and Craft parties, you can create a day your child will always remember - because they, along with their friends, will create their own keepsake from the party! Please also remember that Explore! will be open Columbus Day and Veteran's Day as well as all of those 1/2-days for parent-teacher conferences - reward your child for all of their efforts by spending some fun time together at Explore!

Explore! is excited to be hosting "Beautiful Beasts" - an exhibit from the World Awareness Children's Museum. Come see the artwork created by children around the world! Discover a new type of animal! Create your own Korean Dragon Puppet! The Museum will also be hosting their "Wild & Wonderful: World Animals" Summer Program at Explore! August 24-28th. We are sorry to be saying goodbye to our "Mother Goose" of 2 years who is moving on to a new chapter in her life. Best Wishes to Ila and her family. We are pleased to have Gramma Nancy to lead stories & crafts. Join us Tuesdays and Fridays at 11 for this fun activity!

Happy Spring Everyone!
Is it too hot, too rainy, too cold to play outside? Running out of fun things to do with your children? Looking for a fun indoor play place to take the kids?
We are thrilled to be partnering with the World Awareness Children's Museum by presenting their exhibit "The World is GREEN!" sponsored by SCA Tissue. Come check out what children around the world think about our planet and how we should be taking care of it! We have wonderful artwork, costumes, musical instruments and many things for you to Explore! You can also make a Japanese fan, Hispanic paper flowers or a Swedish Maypole. The exhibit will be at Explore! until the end of June!

Hello Friends of Explore!
We hope you had a wonderful winter! We enjoyed celebrating our 3rd Anniversary in December and are thrilled that some of you are willing to visit from Ticonderoga, Rutland and Fairhaven, as well as Albany, Schenectady, Wilton and Clifton Park. And we love our neighbors in Saratoga and appreciate their visits as well.
We spent the long, cold winter season trying to find more fun things for you to do together as a family and adding them to the many activities for adults and children we already offer here at Explore! Our Stories & Crafts continues to be held on Tuesdays and Fridays at 11am with a different theme each week as well as take-home activities. We have added Kindermusik (TM) Classes three days a week and will be offering Noah's Ark Animal Workshop (TM) Stuff-n-Fluff Parties. We will be hosting a special exhibit by The World Awareness Children's Museum, "The World is GREEN", starting April 6th (sponsored by SCA Tissue). Birthday Parties continue to be a hit especially since you can design-your-own! Make sure to book your child's special day early!
In addition, our Neighbor To Neighbor Program has resulted in many meals for our community food pantry and other donations to great local charities. Check our Special Programs section for more details and ways you can contribute while at the same time getting FREE admission to Explore! One way you can help is to join us for our fundraiser for CROPWalk April 18th.
We have other new activities and exhibits in the works and welcome your ideas as well. We want to keep Explore! fun and interesting for you and your kids!

Dear Friends of Explore!
Looking for some fun activities for your children this summer? We’ve got some exciting events and programs planned for you at Explore! The enclosed flyer lists dates and times for our new Friday Family Fun Nights, our Science Fun! Young Explorers’ Club, our popular “Mother Goose” Stories & Crafts, and our new “Songs and Silliness”.
Friday Family Fun Nights - We’ll be open Fridays from 6-8 pm for these special events and are offering them in conjunction with our “Neighbor †o Neighbor” Program (see below) which selects local charities or families that could use some help from their neighbors. Please note that memberships, passports, special pricing programs and coupons will not apply during these special events. Reservations are required for some events – so make your plans early!
Pajama Parties! Feed the kids at home, put them in their pajamas (and their socks!) and join us for playtime, puppets and stories. Each night’s book will be given to a lucky winner. Kids $6, Adults FREE! In June and July, diapers and baby wipes will be collected for the

Center . In August, non-perishable food items will be collected for Community Action – our local food pantry.
Pirate Party! Reserve your child’s spot aboard ship as we set sail on a fun-filled adventure with our very own Pirate. We’ll add some exciting games for even more fun! Prizes will be awarded to all of our best mates! Reservations required! Kids - $8, Adults - $5 suggested donation on behalf of the Domestic Violence Project.
Kids Night Out! While your kids (ages 5-9 only) enjoy pizza and playtime at Explore!, you can enjoy a date with hubby or some time with friends. Kids - $12. Reservations required! Discounts are available at the following local restaurants: Gourmet Café, GG Mamas,
East End Eatery, Bistro Tallulah, and Davidson Brothers Restaurant and Brewery. Check our website for the latest list of participating local restaurants.
Science Fun – an introductory hands-on program, geared toward ages 5-9, exploring various topics in science such as magnets, electricity, insects and weather. Six exciting topics will be offered on Thursdays from 10:30-12. Come once, twice or all six times. $3 supply fee for each session – or $15 for all six. Take-home activities included with each session. Add $5 to admission and you can drop off your child at 10 am. Pick-up is by 12:30. Registration required.
Stories & Crafts is held on Tuesday and Friday mornings at 11 am. The theme changes weekly and reflects seasons and holidays as well as other fun topics based on our favorite books. Please let us know if you’re coming so we can prepare enough craft materials.
Songs and Silliness is a new program that will be held on Wednesday mornings at 10:30 am. Join “Jana Banana” and her puppet friends to sing, play instruments, dance, and just have fun!
Spa Specials – combine educational activities for your children with some pampering time for yourself! Our MOM package certainly fits the bill by offering 75 minutes of pampering for “Moms (or Dads) On the Move”. Receive a manicure, facial and 30-minute massage for $85. Kids under 5 will need Tot-Watching ($5 per hour) – reservations needed for both services.
Gift Certificates – a great idea for friends, relatives and coworkers. Buy $10 or more of Explore! gift certificates and receive a $5 spa certificate for your own use.

Newest Exhibit from The Fund for
Lake George - Some of you may have seen this evolving exhibit, Water Lab, which focuses on water quality and invasive species and how we can take better care of our waterways. More information will be added in the coming weeks. And while there is always something fun and interesting to do at Explore!, we also feel the need to give back to our Community! To do that we have implemented a new program to help support local children and families!
Neighbor †o Neighbor Program – this new program supports local charities or families that could use some help from their neighbors. While Explore! has hosted fundraisers, food drives and other charitable events in the past, this new program will provide on-going support to various groups or individuals in the area. Check our website each month for more information.
Diaper Drive in July, to support the Open Arms Pregnancy Center. Adults will be admitted FREE during normal business hours if they bring in a package of diapers size newborn to 3. Wipes and other infant supplies would also be appreciated!
Food Drive in August to support Community Action – our local food pantry. Adults will be admitted FREE during normal business hours if they bring in 4 non-perishable food items.
New Hours – Explore! is now open Monday through Saturday 10-5 and Sunday 12-5. We will be closed July 4th and Labor Day.
Snacks, Juice, Water and Explore! T-shirts are now available for sale at reception.
